Portrait of child in classroom
Please watch these videos to determine if a learner driven education is the right fit for your family. This model does not resonate with everyone. You must be ready for a hero's journey, in order to join the Adventure at Acton Academy!
LEARNING AT ACTON
We believe that “Learning to BE” and “Learning to LEARN” and “Learning to DO”
are more important than simply learning to memorize.
Learning to BE
Personal virtues such as
honesty, work ethic, responsibility, kindness and empathy are developed through community relationships and conflict resolution.
Learning to LEARN
Through socratic discussions, personal goal setting, critical thinking, and adaptive technology, our students are equipped to be independent lifelong learners.
Learning to DO
Whether it's by launching a business, creating a living habitat, programming a robot, or learning an instrument, Acton students build real-life skills in the classroom every day.
Welcome to Acton Academy
Join us in turning education upside down by equipping students to share their learning with each other, in a close-knit community with extremely high standards of excellence, and with a strong focus on FUN!! See for yourself.....
The exhibition on entrepreneurship was an amazing success! In a surprising turn of events, the youngest team took first place, giving us all a few lessons on competition, profitability, creativity and great sportsmanship! Great job Eagles! And thank you AANB!
I just love seeing my kids excited to go to school every morning. My youngest has started to speak more clearly and to the point when she needs something and my oldest shares more eagerly with her sister now.
The reality matches the promises (expressed and implied). The owners don't (and shouldn't) have all the answers worked out; instead, it's hands-on and minds-on iteration towards a shared and desirable goal.
Such a sweet moment when the other Eagles were encouraging my daughter."Come on! We want you to be part of our tribe!" Such a wonderful moment and the realization that something amazing has started at Acton Academy
